EVERYONE NEEDS JESUS

If you do not think that you need Jesus Christ, then you need to see what God's Word has to say.

A. The Bible Declares the Fact and Greatness of Our Sin

Romans 3:22-23

For there is no difference; {23} for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

1 John 1:8, 10

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. {10} If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

Matthew 22:37-38

Jesus said to him, " 'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' {38} "This is the first and great commandment.

Have you kept this first and greatest of God's commandments?

Psalms 130:3

If You, LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand?

 B. What are the Consequences of Sin and Unbelief?

Isaiah 57:20-21

But the wicked are like the troubled sea, When it cannot rest, Whose waters cast up mire and dirt. {21} "There is no peace," Says my God, "for the wicked."

John 8:34

Jesus answered them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.

Galatians 3:10

For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them."

John 3:36

"He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him."

Hebrews 11:6

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

John 3:18

"He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

John 6:23

however, other boats came from Tiberias, near the place where they ate bread after the Lord had given thanks;

2 Thessalonians 1:7-9

and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, {8} in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. {9} These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,

John 8:24

"Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins."

John 8:21

Then Jesus said to them again, "I am going away, and you will seek Me, and will die in your sin. Where I go you cannot come."

Revelation 21:8

"But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."

Hebrews 10:28-29

Anyone who has rejected Moses' law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. {29} Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?

C. God' Wants Us to Know of His Great Love for Us

John 3:16

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Romans 5:6, 8

For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. {8} But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Isaiah 53:5-6

But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. {6} All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

Luke 22:44

And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

Matthew 27:46

And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Eli , Eli, lama sabachthani?" that is, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?"

Galatians 3:13

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree"),

1 Peter 1:18-19

knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, {19} but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.

1 Peter 2:24

who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness; by whose stripes you were healed.

Ephesians 1:7

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace

Romans 5:6-11

For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. {7} For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. {8} But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. {9} Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. {10} For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. {11} And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

 B. Jesus Christ a Risen Savior is the Savior from the Power of Sin

1 Corinthians 15:1-4

Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, {2} by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you; unless you believed in vain. {3} For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, {4} and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,

"And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins."

Romans 7:20-21, 23-25

Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. {21} I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. {23} But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. {24} O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? {25} I thank God; through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.

Jude 24

Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, And to present you faultless Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,

Isaiah 41:10, 13

Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.' {13} For I, the LORD your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, 'Fear not, I will help you.'
